the diesel engine is very long and its radiator shroud is shorter and also offset to one side. The 99 E320 came with electric fan and has a very different shroud which holds the fan itself.

The 1998 E320 came with clutched fan but its shroud is very very deep like an old Ford truck.

You cannot use the gas engine shroud on the diesel because it wont fit.
