* Real start menu - yay!
* Hopefully it will allow running "Metrosexual" crapplets in their own desktop windows
* Rumor has it that an M$ store account is required for activation. Might be a good thing if that means you can move installs between devices as long as only one is activated.
* Hope it doesn't require a Microsoft Online (vs Local) login account to use it -- I have no interest in Microsoft's cloudpushing nor transmitting data to M$. I want to save locally or on an SMB share, not on Skydrive, nor so I want M$ to have control of what I install or don't install on my own machine! (This is unlikely since it would be terrible for corporate use in businesses that have their own internal infrastructure but not a domain.) Right now, I use Windows 7 and no other paid software. OpenOffice, Gimp, and Thunderbird connected to my own mail server are a winning combo! On the plus side, Win 7 will be supported for another five years. At least.
