My '83 300SD w/305K miles on it was an outstanding example of what garaging one and a clean engine bay looked like. Unfortunately, I only have a couple pics of the exterior, long before the cell phone and Internet ease of pictures was possible to share.
The paint from 1983 isn't at all what the factory paint looks like from the past 20 or so years on one.  When you have something in such outstanding condition, it's really something that sets it apart from most others. |
Joe, you must admit, you do have a tendency to "pop people's balloons" when they are gushing about their new automotive acquisitions.  Most new owners are simply looking for a little hand holding, a little sharing in their excitement.
