Mine too. Back the fornicate off. Tailgating me will not make the traffic in front of me speed up. No I will not speed up to fill that 8 secondgap between me and the slow traffic in front of me, that's a normal sane following distance PLUS what I need to slow down more slowly so you don't rear end me because you're two feet off my bumper and paying more attention to your cellphone than driving.
Honestly I just put on the blinker and slow down and wave them past. It ain't worth the headache. If I'm feeling particularly irritable, I might lay on the horn and give them a thumbs down out the window.

In some places, using your signal before a lane change is just giving the enemy advanced notice. When I drove a big truck in Portland, I turned on the blinker, waiting three blinks, then went over. Everyone scattered - if you waited for them to make a gap you were screwed.
