Ankle length dresses? So you're OK with boys wearing knee-length shorts, but girls need to cover up Taliban-style? Great.
I couldn't socialize because of my Autism, and wasn't too fat, nothing like my Brother. The highest I ever hit was 215, 36 inch waist, in High School. Took weight lifting and dropped to 180 pounds, 34 inch waist, with mass (I was oddly lower body and could easily leg press 640 pounds). With my health issue, I dropped all the way to 135 pounds, 32 inch waist. Now I am 140 but even less waist, probably a 30 inch. What I have learned is move more, eat less. Besides, children will always be a bit more on the plump side, but just have to watch it. Better to have something to fall back on as Oma keeps reminding me.

The only socialization I ever saw was on campus. We were so spread out there wasn't common walking paths. The bus there was plenty, and now I think back, that is where I could talk to those lonely girls, the ones willing to talk to me as we were both rejected. I still see their faces and still recall at least one name. Not vain and down to Earth, humble and loving. Makes miss them...

As for clothing, it has been part of a long thinking I have been doing. I see the corruption and vanity of the current society and only see Conservative Christianity as a solution. Even I am fallen and therefore part of my bias and desire to be more pleasing to the Almighty. We are called to be set apart, just like the Jews. However, the Jews aren't to shave their beards, wear certain fabrics, wear tassels, and on and on. Jesus broke the old covenant, but doesn't mean we can do anything we please: we are still to be pleasing to the Almighty. The first step is simply to believe Jesus is the only Son of G-d and died for all our sins; He is the only Way to the Father. As Christians we are to be modest and decent. I don't see anything above the knees as decent, especially girls of a young age. The longer the dress, the harder to look up it. How can wearing something shorter than your vulva be comfortable? I was amazed how oft the girls kept tugging on their short shorts! So being reasonable can mean being more comfortable! Further, if you are taught not to be vain and focused on the outside, the focus becomes on the inside. The "plain" girls really attracted me as man they were so confidant and beautiful, especially on the inside! There was personality and depth, a warm beating heart, unlike the vain shallow women, many suffering. One last point, how much rape happens where the society is modest, such as the Amish?

And it should be noted I will most likely never get married and even less likely to have children. If I have children, there is my better half that I will be working with to raise and guide the children. So my idealization may never be reality. I am fine with that, as the Almighty all gave us different strengths.

As for the snide remark, the Taliban are People too, who have hijacked the Islamic faith. There no sanctioned jehad (meaning Holy War), as there isn't a head imam to sanction it (to make it holy according to them). I have Muslim friends and are very upset about it, espcially the way America sees it all. It isn't the truth.

Most Muslim's that believe in being modest, many following the Qur'an. It isn't something to mock. I read a wonderful National Geographic by a lady who married a Arab and lives in Saudi. Her and her friends love wearing a covering, as gives them autonomy. So as in everything, it is a matter of perspective.

We shouldn't hate People that are different, but love them. When they hit us, turn the other cheek. Yes, it is hard and even I struggle. But love wins. If everyone loved, there be no war!
