It is a sort of throttle by wire system, were the engine computer has the ability to cut the throttle back if needed. Also, it servs as the cruise and the idle motor. All of this is in one package. I have replaced 5 in the last 2 weeks. The wire harness burns up inside of them. (Does this sound familiar or what?)
