My bearing was screaming on my 190E 2.6 on the air pump about three weeks ago I removed the air pump which was simple and used a shorter belt a 3280mm in length was perfect after 4 tries. The pump only is engaged for a few seconds when the engine is cold. My car has 230,000 miles on it. I haven't had any problems since.
