I hope this is not a stupid question, but I am trying to figure out if I need to replace my rotors. My break warning light has started to blink periodically when I break, so I thought I would look into it. My FSM has a page similar to this one:
However, when I measured my front rotors, the numbers I get are 26mm (the narrowest I measured) and they match following numbers, which I have found in various other sources on the web:
FRONT
Thickness 28mm
Limit for maintenance service 26
Wear limit 25.4
REAR
Thickness 10
Limit for maintenance service 8.8
Wear limit 8.3
Is my FSM wrong (22mm instead of 28mm)? Are there two choices for rotors? Why the discrepancy?
Also, visual inspection of my front pads leads me to believe that there is still a fair amount of pad remaining (~6mm). Could my sensors be a little off? The rotors have ~60K miles.
Regardless, at 26mm, should I just change pads and rotors regardless?
I have a similar question about my rear rotors, which are at 8.8mm now, with pads ~8mm.
Thanks in advance for any help.
