Sad to go so young. I think Tom played the dimmer brother, though both were Phd in Engineering grads from MIT. I liked that Tom had an old Dodge Dart, like me. It seemed like they answered every question off the cuff, without a support staff researching in the background.

I recall one old M-B question. For a stuck key, they suggested "bad tumbler", while I yelled "no, broken spring detent inside the steering lock housing" since that happened to me a month earlier. They also laughed off a lady in Santa Cruz with a bad heater core, saying she didn't need heat there, then changed to "well if you lived in San Diego". I was just then listening to my son whine about the bypassed heater core in my 1984 300D he was using in San Diego, so Ray and Tom backed me up.
