Could be you're looking at the wrong end...........

The multi-link rear suspension has plenty of bushes to wear out, any one of which could cause the car to wander about rather than steer straight.

Have as good tug on each end of all the links, loaded and unloaded. There's a good chance you'll finnd some play there.
