Thanks for the post.
I spent all night going over the MB cd.
Printed out all electrical diagrams I could find.

On paper it looks like a nightmare -
Looks like I will need to pull the dash cluster out.
I'll check all soldered connections while I'm there.
This will be a good chance to change all bulbs and the
temperature sensor too.
