However, I would advise against using that URO brand hose. Plenty of threads on the short lifespan of their parts, especially their rubber components.

You can buy the genuine hose from your local deal for under $15. Given the epic pain the ass that replacing such a seemingly simple hose is, I'd use nothing but the highest quality hose. Think about it, the one on there lasted nearly 27 years. And like vwauditech said, yours is one of the first I've seen go bad, I replace them when I have the heads off of cars just because, but I don't know that I've ever replaced a failed one.
