IMO, W210s don't rust any more than any other MB I've had experience with like W123s and W124s.
I'm hoping to get into contact with the owner on this car, and find out a lot more info. I'm not getting my hopes up on it at all, but if it turned out to be something that'd be awesome. I have no problem with high mileage MBs if properly maintained and service history, as they most certainly proved their worth of longevity over the years.

That's exactly one of the testimonials I was writing about. The pics posted here (DD) were eye-opening. A coastal California car.
I'm finding that the best thing for these MB diesels are to keep them active by driving them, regardless the age and miles.
