That would be a 1995 E300 Diesel in the states. It has electronic idle control and electronic EGR control but you can live w/o the former and remove the latter, if you choose. Fewer than 3,000 of those models were imported into USA, alas.

Another choice would be the 1991-93 (years?) 300D2.5 with the OM602 Turbo engine. Same removable electronics.
