It looks OE because it is. After searching used for awhile, I checked with World Upholstery, GAHH and finally Mercedes. Mercedes OE was as good a price or better as the others would charge to make me one, i.e. $366 wholesale, no tax, no shipping. Turns out I bought the last one in the world for my style and color - had to come from Germany. All of the used ones I looked at were either the wrong color, the wrong style, not leather, beat up worse than mine, etc. Plus the effort to remove a used one at a junk yard without power would have been a giant PIA. Well worth it to me to go with OE. The Mercedes one also comes with the foam padding and cheesecloth type cloth that goes between the fiber pad and the foam/cover - not sure the aftermarket ones did and I didn't know enough to ask.
Bought mine from the wholesale dealer in Asheville, NC. First time I have ever ordered from them, but I was impressed with the prices, the communication and their efforts.
