Family branches are know to everyone locally. The other family members would act like whatever their relative did impacted them.

There is no immigration here and little to no population changes. In some ways it is like time has passed this area by. That is both good and bad I suppose but it is what it is.

My own belief is at some point people will discover this area eventually as I did. A young person could do far worse. If too many people where to discover it might be a bad thing as well.

We only had one inside the family issue. At 14 one of our daughters did a little shoplifting locally. We made her return the merchandise and also pay for it. At the same time I made her tell the retailers that her father believes she should work a little for them free of charge telling them who her father was at the same time.

Several retailers did. After that I knew she would never touch another thing that was not hers in her lifetime. The police are also pretty efficient here when required as they know everyone. Now that said move to Halifax a hundred and twenty miles away and it is substantially different.

As for robberies we just do not have any. Domestic disputes would be the biggest issue locally I suspect.
