I would check batt voltage first, the 15 amp fuse on top of the K40 relay second, and if it both of those check out have the SRS codes registering airbag deployment reset third. A lil OBDII scanner won't register or reset codes those on those modules.
If the airbag went off the seatbelt tensioner probably did too?
Jeremy - My 99 was totaled while I was on vacation by a mechanic who tried cleaning up the casting of the head around GP #6 so that his extractor socket would seat better on a GP that I couldn't get out. I told him to send it off to a machine shop, he didn't listen. He found a thin spot in the head; I saw it and he really didn't do much grinding, more clean-up than anything. New $3k head and labor on and off was enough to total mine with similar miles as yours and it was a few years newer too. These cars are getting old, doesn't take much at all to total one.
