What makes sense when you look at the fan blades?
Years ago, that was true, but not always today with the advent of reverse-rotation fans and water pumps.
Generally speaking, engines turn CCW when looking at the PTO end of the crankshaft. The exceptions are chain saws, and paired aircraft and marine engines. I've also seen a Wisconsin Robin engine used on brick saws that was a reverse-rotation engine.
