I thought it was just bad innacurate reporting. An Alberg of that vintage cannot remain in an upturned position. The keel has too much ballast.
They were not fin keel designs and even those of that vintage did not have the beam to remain inverted. Also even sixty days on the outside of the hull would be very punishing in that region of the Atlantic at this time of the year.
Whatever the truth is It is very fortunate it did not sink. Now dismasting and with the hull still sound he and the boat could make sixty days is reasonable.
