The w124 trunk is perfectly designed to fit 2 NATO jerry cans in the side pockets. My dad picked up 4 of these 20 years ago when they were still dirt cheap and lacked the safety BS of today's cans. I use them when ever I fill up with HPR or have a large Safeway/Von's fuel discount to cash in. 1000 miles between trips to the pump... priceless.
