I went thru similar issue with a friends 560 sl, with 2 voltmeters in hand 1 monitoring power to pumps and 1 on ezl ignition voltage found out I had a bad ezl, got a used ezl from pickyour part ,problem fixed, I had randem dying, the ezl sends a running voltage signal to fuel pump relay to keep fuel pump relay energized, get a wiring scematic and test
