I ended up being really pleasantly surprised so far with a dye product for rubber. Even the color was pretty close. So far, the exterior plastic dye has held up and now the exterior rubber dye may be a winner too.

The rubber end pieces are going on tomorrow (they go with 3-piece Euro front bumper) and the mesh head light grill covers. I got the CIBIs or their knock offs (Hella's), need to double check since once the car comes back from the body shop, they are going in too. That was a JY score.

The wire mesh headlight grills are supposed to be an uber rare MB option. I can say they are incredibly well built. I have never seen them since I started tinkering with MBs circa 2008 until April of this year.

The dye was about impossible to remove. I had a very feint run so I had to sand it off, a very tiny area about the size of a quarter. The stuff is incredibly thin and will have runs and drips if not super careful. However, zero cracks or flaking so far, but time will tell. Those rubber pieces went through the flex test and it held up perfectly.

So, all the black rubber pieces, et cet may end up being dyed to match the body color. Even debating going with a more sexy color once all the rust and damage issues are gone with a re-spray down the road. Front clip is done, rust free. Rear area from rear door dogleg back is now rust free.
