Just picked up a 74 240d. Brakes are very hard but do opperate. I looked at my vacuum pump and saw the front cover looked like it had broken off. However diaphragm looks to be intact. Pulled off the booster hose and am getting alot of vacuum. Is it operating correctly and just have a bad cap? Looks like it was blown off.
