Had that piece break on the front passenger door of my '84 Euro TD. It was plastic. Wonder if the 3D replacement is stronger than the original.
I replaced my latch assy with one from an early W123 which had that part made of metal but was slightly different design. Had to modify the key-lock shaft a bit to fit the early latch.
