I agree with Greg - turn it over by hand a few times first.
On the cracked manifold - Something ain't right for it to crack like that
. Either someone screwed up torquing or it is head/gasket related. If it is not from improper torquing then there were some EXTREME temperture differences
. Best case if the latter, plan on just having to replace/repair the head, worst case - lower end rebuild.
