I'm cheap and bought diaphragms only. You can get to the pods without pulling the dash and I figured it was worth the risk.

To your question, there are single and double diaphragm pods. You can swap the connector as long as you install on a pod with the correct number of diaphragms. Try sourcing a few if you have a yard close by. They should be next to free. All/most of our cars of this era use the same pods. You can swap pieces by taking them apart with a small screw driver. People at the yards around me don't even know what they are or what the price is.
