Try starting in neutral. And/or, try wiggling the shifter around while trying to start the car.

Sounds like a possible bad neutral safety switch. Sometimes when it stops working in park it will work in neutral or when jiggled around a bit.

Note that if your shift bushings are bad or missing it might not be the switch, but instead that the shift mechanism isn't properly engaging the switch. So check those first, especially if your shift lever is sloppy. It should be nice and tight.
