you can buy the plastic extension piece, there is a seller on ebay that sells just these - the replica piece is about 15 or 20 which would be a URO part, the original hirschmann piece is about 55 dollars. Make sure the one you buy is for your car, the 1995 uses a shorter antenna than the earlier models.

To remove the motor, remove the internal carpet finisher from the inside of the trunk and remove the fastener. It will have one wiring plug and one earthing strap.

Its also a good idea to get new insulator rubbers as the old ones will be hard and disturbing them will cause water leaks.
