I have the same car. Twice the "light horn" (high beam flasher) part of the switch has failed in my car. The failure was mechanical—a plastic part inside the switch assembly snapped off. Since then I have been more conservative about using the "light horn."

You may have had a similar failure in your switch. Replacement of the assembly appears to be the only fix available. You can remove the steering wheel and then the contact spiral to access and remove the switch but I don't think you'll find anything you can repair.

I managed to make both of my replacements with parts from the local "Pick-n-Pull" auto recycling yard; new parts are probably $100-200.
