I replaced my ignition tumbler today but the outside housing (Large Black Cover) when i went to put back together wouldnt lock.

I noticed that there was little latch looking thing with a spring laying agianst the dash below the tumbler assembly from what i can tell just fell out?

It looks like i will have to take the dash out to get to it but does anyone know if it just locks/snaps in or is there something more major broke inside of it?
