Okay so here's the update so days after having no problems at all today take a drive on a major highway and I'm pulling on and it won't shift out of first so I pull to the side of the road shift it through the gears from park down to 2nd gear put put it back in drive and all is fine again.

I did notice some wire deterioration going down to the sensor on the transmission so I'm going to look into that, in the meantime I have the filter kit on order and I'm going to change the fluid and filter.
