Note that Japan has NOT produced a world-market airliner, but they've tried to do so before. There's no guarantee that the Chinese plane will be a worldwide success. The Russians have also been trying to break into the world market for years without success.

The only real new players in the past 30 years have been the Brazilians and Canadians.
