This is why, manual transmission cars didn't come with cruise control.....It was always an aftermarket affair....
I don't think the OP's issue is due to this....
It is more then likely a glow plug issue....I don't know if he has pencil or loop style....Under dash relay, legged relay or the fender mounted one..they were replaced by...
Could be a simple ground issue...
