HI All

I currently busy with an overhaul. I have removed the oil pan and cleaned it, However the original gasket is intact and stuck solid to the oil pan.

I have purchased a new gasket.

Now, do I remove the old gasket , which may be very time consuming.

Or could I just use some RTV sealant on the old gasket stuck to the oil pan and install.

or (this sounds silly) could I just place the new gasket onto the old gasket , using the RTV sealant in between and install.


any thoughts ?
