I've disassembled two such pumps; neither had a screen or a filter. There is a tiny screen in the pressure regulator at the output of the pump, probably to keep broken bits out of the rack.

I would love to be proven wrong by someone who can post a picture of a reservoir (the black plastic kind) with a screen or filter.
