Generally, window motor geaboxes are handed ( one side is a mirror image of the other ) and sometimes a Left front is same as Right Rear. You usually can swap the motor portion. I've used a SAAB ( Bosch ) motor to fix a Jaguar ( also Bosch )

When mounted with gearbox up and motor low, grease slowly oozes out of the box and onto the motor brushes causing them to lose contact. A cleaning and brush replacement will get things going again. ( oil attacks the brushes and they usually can't be reused )
