Yea, I always bring boxes of collateral damage to the counter. Usually they don't charge for nuts, bolts, little brackets, etc.

Junkyards aren't inherently safe, like any time you work on a car, it's only as safe as you make it. Dropping a car on yourself is just a stupid whether you're in your driveway, working on a shop lift, the side of the highway, or a junkyard. Don't do stupid things and you won't get squished.
