Thanks for the link, I had to re-read the instructions. The door opener company sold me a repeater kit, but I didn't realize how it worked. I was trying to use the Homelink-2 remote to program the mirror button.

Apparently, the repeater listens for the original Homelink signal from the cars mirror button and repeats it to the opener with a Homelink-2 signal.

When I used the remote that came with the repeater, everything worked. Now I have three remotes (mirror-button remote, Homelink-2 remote, and repeater remote). Thanks again for the help.

PS - I still had to do the last step with the openers learn button (press opener learn button, then press the mirror button twice within 30 seconds).
