I'm a little emotional about this. I actually read your post and apologize for not catching your meaning before. I see now that you were telling me the check valve is mounded at the pump and not in the line.

It's raining here in Greenville, SC this morning and I'm without cover so I'll remove and examine that valve when it clears a little.
