Good evening all

I am having a problem with my antenna. The antenna seems to have a mind of its own, and it will rise and lower at will. Sometimes when I start the car, it will take about 3-5 minutes to extend. Other times the antenna will retract while I am cruising down the road.

I have tightened the ground strap, and ensured all the wires are tight. When the antenna retracts, the radio remains on. Only seldom will it extend once it has retracted until i cut the car off and restart. Is there anything i can do to possibly remedy this problem?
