It may be a day after the original plowing or even two if the storm was bad enough. Then they come along and wing it back further, The additional space is needed for the next storm if one occurs before it melts down. .

At decent speed that wing can drive a lot of snow back into the mouth of the driveway. .

It is forecast to rain for a couple of days up here in eastern Canada later this week. I hope it reduces the amount of snow for those that have too much without flooding anywhere. That's of course if rains there . A nice warm wind is better though.
