Which is consistent with your observations on knobs and the like. If you have paperwork that says its a 61 that may easily mean that it stood around on the dealer's lot for 2 years waiting for a buyer and then it sold in 61 so the DMV called it a 61. That happened often on an expensive car back then when every state had its own rules on paperwork and no computers helped us get things consistent.

Did you ever get your hands on service literature?
