I have a 1997 C230 that will develope a misfire after driving a few miles and while driving down the road I can turn the ignition off and back on and the misfire will correct itself but only for a short time. This happened for about a year now, but now the misfire is constant. Also the check engine light is on.
I read on another forum that the timing chain could cause a misfire and after engine is turned off and restarted the misfire will correct itself for a little while.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
