A friend of mine owned one during the 80's. It was easy to work on, fun to drive and got rather good mpg. But buying parts, at least then, was tough since there was only one Buick dealer in the US that carried parts for it.

We were lucky in that the dealership was close to where we were, but even they had to contact Opel in Germany for stuff now and then.

What killed owning one for me was the lack of an A/C. I think you could get an aftermarket one but the cost was several hundred dollars and it truly drained what little power the engine put out.
