Over a series of years I found that a manual transmission made me overly involved in the minute by minute operation of the vehicle (car and motorcycle). Initially it is fun and empowering but over time it became frustrating. I stopped using a manny after over 2 decades of near daily use and felt a sense of long overdue improvement in doing so.
I never looked back.
Not trying to impose my preference but only noting my experience.
