The "pencil-type" glowplugs won't work with your preglow system.
Electrical scheme for "wire-type" glow plugs (as on your L 407 D) is below.

It needs to install relay for "pencil-type" glowplugs from w123/201/124 or retrofit "fast-preglow" kit (p/n BOSCH 0 250 201 955).
