isn't this a 2-stroke?
I thought many if not all lawn boys from that vintage were 2-strokes.
Looking at a 7225 parts diagram, looks like it is.
if so, USE PREMIX not straight gas!
If you pull the plug, ground it and check for spark. If you have it, there's not much else to do unless you want to pull the cylinder and decarbonize.
