I have been to the Price Tower many times. There was once a cafe there called the Copper Room or something. Very high dollar and popular with the Phillips Petroleum honchos.

But Phillips merged with Conoco and all the high dollar jobs moved out of town. I think Copper might still be there but as just as bar.

But the Price Tower is so unusual that unless you have been there it is hard to describe. Did you notice the fire escapes? They are built into the exterior of the building so well that unless you know where to find then they can't be seen from the outside. Or the inside.

There is also a FLW house located on a bunch of land south of town on Silver Lake Road. I have never seen it but it is supposed to be an amazing place. The story is after seeing the Price Tower some oil guy contacted FLW to build his house.

Price, by the way, was in the pipeline construction business. When he needed a new building he contacted Frank Phillips, of Phillips, Inc., and asked him who he would recommend for his new building. Frank said to do what he always did: Go for the best you can afford. That meant FLW.
