The electrical switch part of the assembly is removed from the rear which means removing the panel underneath the dash. To remove the connector on the ignition switch the key must be turned to position 1. Once off you can get to the 3 screws that hold the switch with a stubby driver. Some were blade and some were Phillips.
When installing, set switch to same position as one removed and watch for the indexing notch.
