I am thinking the same thing, snag the old chain and then magnetically retrieve and match every single remaining part out of the oil pan. I am wondering if I should just do the whole head at the same time, do you think that is a good idea at 155k miles?
Just can't believe that this happened at 155k, I am a maintenance fanatic and the engine ran perfectly up to this point, absolutely no indications of any problems, just thought I would be doing the head at 450k. Be forewarned 240 D's: check your tensioner, do it now!!

Thanks Chris
